Stress

When the weight of life feels impossible to carry alone.

Stress has a way of turning the volume up on everything until the world feels loud, chaotic, and relentlessly demanding. It is that persistent hum in the background that keeps you from sleeping or the tightening in your chest that reminds you how much you feel you have to manage. You are not alone in feeling like you are perpetually running a race where the finish line keeps moving further away, and it is completely normal to feel drained by the constant pressure to hold it all together.

Living in a state of high stress isn't a sign of personal failure or a lack of character; it is a human response to an overwhelming world. Whether it is the pressure of work, the complexities of relationships, or simply the uncertainty of tomorrow, the burden is real and the fatigue is heavy. It is okay to admit that you are tired of carrying it all, and it is even okay to acknowledge that you don't always have the answers or the strength to make it go away on your own.

Scripture to sit with

A short reflection

Jesus knew what it was like to feel the press of the crowd and the weight of expectations. In the Garden of Gethsemane, he was so overwhelmed by the stress of what was ahead that he was honest about his distress with his closest friends, asking them to simply stay awake with him. He didn't hide his humanity or pretend he wasn't feeling the immense pressure of his circumstances.

He offers a different kind of rhythm to those of us who are weary—not a quick fix, but an invitation to walk at a pace that doesn't break us. When we feel stretched too thin, perhaps there is room to bring that frayed, honest version of ourselves to him, just as he brought his own heavy heart to the Father. You are invited to set down the things you have been trying to carry by yourself, whenever you feel ready.
